NEX recently completed the UK's first A-class office space renovation project based on the principle of circular economy for its client, British land real estate. The renovation of the office building aims to create a totally different environment from the past by reusing and transforming the existing decoration. The project covers an area of 4400 square meters and is divided into nine floors, providing working space for 1080 employees and enjoying the beautiful scenery of Regent's Park. Recycling Renovation: to create a new interior space by redefining the existing materials, equipment and furniture left by the former tenants. The 10 meter high (100 square meter) green ecological wall on the first floor is the core of the whole office building decoration. Facing the Euston Road, this wall is woven by large tropical plants and arc-shaped bamboo sound absorption board, which helps to improve the human comfort in the space. The 38 plants planted on the wall were selected from a NASA research white paper and have a positive effect on improving indoor air quality.
In the several floors above the office building, the new office space reuses the old materials extensively to reduce the waste and carbon impact. The existing conference room has been rearranged, and the elevated floor and lighting have been repaired and re debugged. Old decorations using Citi pine have been carefully removed and reused for kitchen facilities and social spaces, or for desk, joinery and furniture.
